Trento, Italy, 2006

Program:
A secular history the one of the Golf Hotel of Madonna of Campiglio, in the heart of the Dolomites, historical residence rich in charme and atmosphere. The ancient hunting resort, built in 1895, became quickly the favourite holiday's destination of the Hasburger Court of Franz Josef and Princess Sissi and of the Viennese nobility. Throughout the ages it became a luxury hotel, reserved to an aristocratic clientele. The building was subject to different interventions that modified its original architecture, starting from a first enlargement at the beginning of the XX century to the construction of a new wing and annexes during the 70s.
The project intends to restore the hotel to its original importance raising the quality level of the service to 5 stars, and re-equilibrating the relationship with the landscape. The program envisages the construction of 100 new rooms (including 20 luxury Suites), two new Restaurants, a Ballroom, a Spa, a new Club house and Country ski center, new housing for staff as well as the expansion of the Golf course from 9 to 18 holes.
The new suites which are distributed along the wood's border are characterized by refined internal finishes that end up with a full height glass façade, suggestive window on the Brenta's mountain chain. A peculiar façade system combines the use of natural wood with the best comfort performances.
